Police in the Philippines have arrested 41 Chinese and two Malaysian nationals associated with the kidnapping of the 48-year-old Singaporean woman from the Solaire Casino Resort in Manila on Monday.
Philippines National police chief Gen. Ronald Dela Rosa berated detainees as they were paraded before TV cameras on Thursday.
Wu Yan, believed to be a high-stakes tourist gambler, had been rescued by police from the condo into the city the day that is following.
Authorities stated the suspects they detained had been members of a loan-shark syndicate focusing on high-rollers that are foreign. Eleven cases that are similar been reported since 2015, according to authorities.
‘The group had been believed to be responsible for a variety of kidnapping incidents perpetrated against foreign nationals whom are high roller casino players in recent months,’ Justice Undersecretary Erickson Balmes told reporters that are local.
